Routes — Traditional Havasupai routes connect Fossil Delta with the Great Thumb area or west around the end of Great Thumb to the greater Esplanade. A more constrained stretch of Esplanade to the east joins Fossil Bay to Forster Canyon and Apache Point. Travel along the Esplanade here is not unreasonable but the distance between destinations is considerable and water sources extremely limited. This is a desolate and dry landscape changing over time from juniper to blackbrush.
