Crash Canyon — What else can you call a place where bits of airplane still remain from the 1956 airline disaster? But this is not an official name. There is a good camp at the beach, popular with the rafting groups.

Routes — In spite of reports in GCLH-II, I do not believe the bank is passable either upriver or down from here. Travel is OK above the Tapeats cliff and there are several places to cross the canyon or reach the mouth. Upriver, the cliffs are low and there are more accesses to the river. The Tonto bench connects with a ravine at the upper end of Carbon Creek. North to the point opposite Little Colorado and on to Sixtymile Canyon beach.
